269. Morris, 2026, Öl auf Leinwand, 40 × 30cm

It always takes me a long time to compose a painting. This moneybox is an object I borrowed to paint. It is modelled after the iconic postwar English Morris Minor Traveller that was produced between 1953 and 1971 and which combined Ash wood and steel in an elegant design. The moneybox distorts the shape and color of the car in a cartoonish way but the interesting aspect that emerges is its combination of oxford/racing green and honey/nougat yellow. The juxtaposition lends the object solidity. The money box bends the original car’s iconic design into something to color daily life and encourage saving money.
